A resolution honoring and congratulating Philadelphia native, Stephen Fulton Jr., for his achievement in becoming the World Boxing Council Featherweight Champion. WHEREAS, Stephen Fulton Jr., also known as Cool Boy Steph, is a native-born Philadelphian who began boxing at the age of 12; and WHEREAS, Trained by Hamza Muhammad at the James Shuler Boxing Gym in West Philadelphia, Fulton earned amateur titles in the Silver and Golden Gloves; and WHEREAS, His professional boxing career started October 14, 2014, when he won his debut fight against journeyman Issac Badger due to a second-round technical knockout; and WHEREAS, Fulton quickly rose through the amateur and professional ranks, ultimately becoming a Unified Super Bantamweight World Champion with an impressive 22-1 record; and WHEREAS, He achieved this record by defeating nine undefeated boxers and a host of elite challengers; and WHEREAS, On October 10, 2024, Fulton announced that he would face then-reigning World Boxing Council Featherweight Champion, Brandon Figueroa, at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas; and WHEREAS, On February 1, 2025, Fulton went head-to-head with Figueora.
