Renaming the 1900 block of South Street “Dr. Beverly Wylie Way” in honor of Reverend Dr, Beverly Wylie, in recognition of her steadfast commitment to her church and dedicated service to the South Philadelphia community. WHEREAS ; Reverand Dr. Beverly Wylie was born on November 18, 1956, and raised in the heart of South Philadelphia, where she graduated from South Philadelphia High School and furthered her education at Community College of Philadelphia ; and WHEREAS, She was an active member in her church, where she wore multiple hats; she sang in the Young Adult Choir, served as a church decorator, and participated in numerous ministries. She was ordained as Reverend in June 2017, taking on both the ministerial staff and facilitator of the Women’s Fellowship; and WHEREAS, She later founded a ministry called “Blessed to Be a Blessing”, dedicated to uplifting the community through connection; they hosted skating parties, holiday movie trips, Christmas toy giveaways and backpack giveaways, touching families across generations in South Philadelphia; and WHEREAS, Rev. Dr. Wylie was a champion of education, enacting the Mary Wylie Scholarship Fund, which ensured that at least one deserving child receives financial support each year to advance their academic pursuits; and WHEREAS, She eventually wrote a book titled “Reasons Why Women Suffer in Silence,” aimed to encourage women across many walks of life to never give up; and WHEREAS, Rev.
