Honoring and congratulating the Neumann-Goretti girls basketball team on winning the Philadelphia Catholic League Championship. WHEREAS, Guided by Coach Andrea Peterson and her dedicated staff-Assistant Coaches Darius Holman, Eric Scott, Gio Johnson, and Jabria Ingram-the Neumann-Goretti Saints have proven they are back where they belong: at the top of the Philadelphia Catholic League besting Archbishop Carroll High School 50-43 at the Palestra on Sunday, February 23, 2025 ; and WHEREAS, This victory marks the second PCL Championship for Head Coach Andrea Peterson, who has once again led her squad to glory. But this win was about more than just history-it was about heart, resilience, and the leadership of seniors Amya Scott and Carryn Easley ; and WHEREAS, Scott, a First Team All-Catholic selection, was a force on both ends of the floor, while Easley, the PCL MVP and also a First Team All-Catholic honoree, delivered another dominant performance when it mattered most. The Saints also got a massive boost off the bench from Zion Coston, who came up clutch with key baskets and relentless defensive energy ; and WHEREAS, This Championship wasn’t won by just a few; it was a collective effort from the entire team, whose depth, defense, and determination pushed them to victory.
