Recognizing the 125th anniversary of Corinthian Baptist Church of Germantown, a pillar of faith, service and community. WHEREAS, Corinthian Baptist Church of Germantown, Pennsylvania, was founded in 1900, originating as a church school at the residence of Sophie Moore and Mae Moore Kennerly and initially known as Mt. Beulah Baptist Mission; and WHEREAS, Under the spiritual guidance of leaders such as Reverend James D. Brooks, Reverend Morton Winston, and subsequent pastors, the church evolved from the East Side Mission to become the beloved Corinthian Baptist Church, affectionately known as the “Little Blue Church on the Hill”; and WHEREAS, On June 13, 1916, the Corinthian Baptist Church of Germantown was officially incorporated, with seven charter members laying a strong foundation for the church’s growth and community impact; and WHEREAS, Corinthian Baptist Church has consistently been a beacon of hope and support in the Germantown community, providing vital outreach programs such as food banks, youth mentorship, education initiatives, and social services that uplift and empower residents; and WHEREAS, Through decades of steadfast faith and resilience, Corinthian Baptist Church expanded its facilities, ministries, and outreach, including the construction of multiple church buildings, establishment of educational programs such as the Corinthian Christian Academy, and development of numerous ministries serving youth, music, missions, and community needs; and WHEREAS, Corinthi…
