Honoring Keith J. Brune on the occasion of his retirement from the Division of Aviation and recognizing his more than 30 years of dedicated service to the City of Philadelphia. WHEREAS, Keith J. Brune, A.A.E., IAP, has served as a dedicated leader in the City of Philadelphia Division of Aviation, culminating in his roles as Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) from June 2022 to December 2023 and Chief Operating Officer (COO) since October 2017; and WHEREAS, Mr. Brune has been instrumental in overseeing the day-to-day operations of both Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and Northeast Philadelphia Airport (PNE), ensuring smooth operations across landside and airside operations, security, terminal maintenance, and capital development, with a keen focus on partnerships, collaboration, and regulatory compliance; and WHEREAS, Mr. Brune has developed, monitored, and implemented a $70 million annual operational budget and managed an expansive team of over 1,000 City employees, along with contracted staff, to ensure Philadelphia’s airports remain world-class facilities; and WHEREAS, Throughout his 30-year tenure, which began in 1991 as an Airport Operations Officer, Mr. Brune has held multiple roles, including Airport Operations Superintendent, Deputy Director of Aviation-Operations and Facilities, and more, demonstrating his commitment to excellence in aviation; and WHEREAS, Mr. Brune’s leadership was crucial during Operation Allies Welcome, where PHL processed over 28,000 pa…
