Recognizing March 2-8, 2025, during Women’s History Month, as Women in Construction (WIC) Week in the City of Philadelphia. WHEREAS, Women in Construction (WIC) Week was created by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), to highlight women as a viable component of the construction industry and emphasize the growing role of women in the industry. The NAWIC Philadelphia Chapter #145 continually promotes the employment and advancement of women in the industry, as well as serving the Philadelphia community through development and education on this subject; and WHEREAS, Women in Nontraditional Careers (WINC) is a multi-stakeholder regional collaboration led by Philadelphia Works that includes community colleges, apprenticeship and training programs, employers, industry and union representatives, non-profit and governmental agencies, and most importantly, women working in manufacturing, construction, utilities and transit; and WHEREAS, The Philadelphia Chapter of Professional Women in Construction (PWC) was formed in 2018 in order to provide a platform to connect and engage across the construction industry, expanding the business network and career opportunities of women in construction across the greater Philadelphia area; and WHEREAS, NAWIC, PWC, and WINC together will be a voice for recruiting and retaining women in construction; and WHEREAS, WIC Week in Philadelphia honors NAWIC, WINC, and PWC for their commitment to support, increase, and advance the partici…
